Keir’s supplemental study materials for The American College courses serve one purpose – to help you pass your exam. You will find in the Keir Digests a brief summary of the information that needs to be learned for each learning objective in their selected course, followed by multiple choice questions and their answers and rationales.
The information required for each of The American College courses is greatly condensed in the Keir materials to facilitate review and retention just before the exam. To aid in exam preparation, we have tried to extract and encapsulate the necessary information from the textbook.
The Digests do not replace the educational experience of completing the review and self-test questions presented in the course materials. When used in the manner shown, our digests can be a very effective supplement that provides students with a different educational experience that can be helpful for exam taking.
We recommend that the chapter reviews be read and studied before trying to answer the questions. For each question that is incorrectly answered, you should read the answer and rationale following the questions.
These questions are designed to serve only one purpose – to help you learn the material. They will best serve this purpose when used as a study and learning supplement to the assigned reading and study material.
If you do not have 85 percent of your answers correct for a particular chapter, you probably have not mastered the material in accordance with the examination standards. A grade of less than 85 percent would suggest you should, at minimum, review the subject areas in which you had a high percentage of errors.
Keir has indicated the page references for the assessment questions. The text is identified by the author’s initials. In preparing these questions, no attempt has been made to anticipate specific questions that are likely to appear on the national examination. What we have attempted to do is select questions that test your understanding of important concepts presented in the study materials. You will find that these questions cover the material in an exceedingly thorough manner. We believe that if you understand the concepts covered by these questions, you will pass the examination for your selected course.
